צבא ארה"ב נתן הוראה - להפסיק להשתמש ברחפני DJI למטרות צבאיות
4 לאוגוסט (יום שישי) - הפנטגון נתן אישור לצבא האמריקאי להשמיד רחפן שהתקרב לעבר בסיס צבאי במדינה.
המהלך מגיע מספר ימים לאחר שהצבא האמריקאי הורה לכוחותיו להפסיק להשתמש למטרותיו ברחפנים שיוצרו על ידי היצרנית הסינית הגדולה DJI בגלל "פגיעות סייבר" כביכול.

דווח לראשונה ב -2 באוגוסט על ידי אתר האינטרנט של SUAS.
הוא פרסם תזכיר שחשף כי הכוחות המזוינים הורו להפסיק את השימוש בכל הרחפנים של חברת "שנזן", להסיר את יישומיה ולנתק כל אמצעי אחסון מהמכשירים שלה.
DJI הוא מותג הרחפנים הנמכר ביותר בצפון אמריקה, על פי מחקר Skylogic. המשרד ציין כי החברה הסינית קיבלה את זה בהפתעה. "אנחנו לא משווקים את המוצרים שלנו ללקוחות צבאיים, ואם אנשי צבא בוחרים לקנות ולהשתמש במוצרים שלנו כדרך הטובה ביותר לבצע את המשימות שלהם, אין לנו שום דרך לדעת מי הם או מה הם עושים איתם", אמר דוֹבֵר מטעם החברה.
"הצבא האמריקני לא הסביר מדוע הוא אסר לפתע את השימוש במזל"ט וברכיבים של DJI, מאיזה "פגיעויות אינטרנטיות" הוא מודאג, והאם הוא כלל גם רחפנים של יצרניות אחרות". הצבא האמריקני לא הוסיף מעבר לכך.
